It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed over three years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the record chasers, are what's still available for a side that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if not provided the opportunity.

Ultimately, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was leader Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her bow and seven global championships have come from 10 tries across formats.

The gritty keeper was also there in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final defeat by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the final and was declared player of the series. She ensured her country would not come up short.

If this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display is debatable.

Many contend the reasoning behind final game tension. Different voices suggest with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was far harder to predict.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 came as she led the batting statistics, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in the nets, it was a challenging time because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," commented Healy.

"Yet the moment you step out on the field, your fighting spirit take over and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has continuously been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in each encounter, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there the right-hander was in motion.

"The possibility to go out there and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

By the time she was dismissed her side needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - a manageable total now demanding an easy conclusion.

"Chasing 330 runs is new territory so I am glad we have the assurance to do that now," continued Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it another time but, if necessary, we are confident we can do it."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this success coming after win against Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated with the discomfort.

However although she subsequently acknowledged those physical issues have pushed back plans to retire, this World Cup is likely to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as captain.

Triumph in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
