Homeowners reported giant hailstones measuring up to 7 centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Utility workers were attempting to repair energy supply throughout the affected regions, with approximately seventy teams working to manage the numerous electricity disruptions.

Victoria's Weather Woes

Meanwhile, around 1,000 residents in Victoria also experienced energy failures after the capital city experienced its wettest day in 18 months.

Emergency response teams handled 598 requests for assistance across the region, primarily for structural issues but also for fallen timber and water accumulation.

During the peak on Sunday, more than 28k energy customers in the state were lacking electricity.

Climate Outlook

Humid circumstances were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this coming days as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.

The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with continued thunderstorm potential expected across different parts of both states.

Health Warning

Medical authorities cautioned that there was an increased chance of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the state's northern country region, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
